Hello, I'm Jess!
I'm an Asian-American graphic designer from the DFW metropolitan area, with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design.
As a designer, I'm eager and excited about finding creative and visual solutions to product and brand problems and concerns. I want to enrich the design world by pulling from my culture and heritage as an Asian-American. A big part of my identity is my heritage and I want to bring these influences into my work. From my own life experiences, I've seen how much the world is impacted by design and how much of our lives has been influenced by design. I design with the intent to create something for real people and for real usage. Many of my designs reflect my personal design style that is clean, elegant, refined, modern, and cute.
My designs emphasize a clean and modern style. I create illustrations and incorporate them into my work. I also specialize in publication, brand, and web/app design. From my East Asian heritage, I pull elements from Chinese and Korean graphic design, like bright colors, manipulation of text shape, with clean and minimalistic elements, and spin them in a way to incorporate the influences from my life in America to create a unique product.
I’ve always enjoyed being able to give and help others, so being able to combine helping and creating are what drive me to make designs. Being able to offer assistance to someone through a visual creation gives me fulfillment in the most immense way possible. I want to include my inspirations from my culture, especially as an Asian-American, as it’s a major part of my identity and is a huge reason as to why I’m the designer I am today.
Fun little note: The flower in my logo is a plum blossom. My last name "Lee" (이/李) means plum tree, so I used a plum blossom to represent my last name and my roots.
